They say I think I'm the shit. Well apparently....

Actual convo from last week:
"You think you a Phlyy bitch don't you?"
"No, but obviously you do cause you said something about it"

Ok, truth be told, I DO think I'm pretty damn phlyy.

I pretty much have to since I got it tatted on my back. But honestly, I have a college degree, a house with a pool in the backyard, a brand new 08 that I bought and paid for myself, no kids and a decent ass job.

Does that shit sound regular to you?

Thing is, I don't think I carry myself in a manner that says "I'm the shit, don't breath my air". I do feel as though I've paid certain dues and met certain requirements and am now entitled to certain things now, but that's life. I think everyone should feel like that when they reach a certain point.
The conversation in example came from a much larger discussion. Me and the bestie were talking about upcoming plans for the weekend. He was going to bag bitches and I was going to Love ( its a 4 story night club in DC.)

He remarks that he should go with me and just hit a two for one: free clubbing and all the bitches he can handle.
Him tagging along is not a problem. The problem is that he's not gonna meet many bitches up in the vip with me.

For that statement I earn a " damn you so fucking bougie now"
Well actually no. I work for the station that puts on the club night on saturdays so I have to go upstairs and make an appearance regardless of everything else. You know company politics and all that.
I choose to stay upstairs because honestly, I don't like being crowded on the floor with the regular people

*record scratch*

Did she just call us regular????

Yea I did. I'm 23 now. I'm way past having 50 niggas in a row grab my ass as I try to get to the bar, I'm soo over getting elbowed when the dj plays some down south shit and to keep it really real wit ya'll: not only do I NOT wanna sweat in my good party dress, but I'm natural and I aint tryin to fuck up my press too early in the night either.
Does that mean I think I'm the shit? Not at all. It just means that I'm a little more grown now and everything that was cool with me aint necessarily cool no more.
I mean, I'm not a rapper, so it aint like I gotta keep it real for the streets. This is the shit I dreamed about as a little girl anyway, so yea I'ma take full advantage. I still dance and I still give out fake names and numbers to the ugly boys (oh that's been the same since day one. Your bad) its just that now I have a different platform to do it from and I'd be a fool not to take advantage of it.
A wise man once told me that the only people who say that money didn't change them, were the people who hadn't made enough yet.
Aight, it was 50 cent but if he put that on a rap cd, he'd be doing weezy numbers right now.
At the end of the day, I'm not gonna apologize to you because I moved to a different level in my life. It aint personal, but if it bothers you that much, then get like me....
