I had to get personal on this one and take us all back to 1985
Some of yall wasnt even born yet right?? well all of my 25+ people def know all about this movie from their childhood.
I grew up mimicking all the lines and moves of this movie...
some classic lines:
"Would you teach me some MOVESSSS" - at the end
"Nigga Please" - Shonuff
"Kiss My Converse" - Shonuff
"I would like to peel this ba-na-na" the gurl talkin bout leeroy in his yellow suit
i can go on and on..
Remember Rudy from the cosbys was his little sister.. and his younger brother would never shut up.. he was the reason why I said cornball so mmuch as a kid.. and remember he was break dancing to get out of the rope...
I remember when I used to go in to Spencers in the Salem Mall, they had a strobelight flashing all the time and me and my friend would take turns doing the hand motions Leeroy did to make it seem likehe had a bunch of arms.. we thought we was killin it..
When we acted out the movie int he neighborhood.. I had to be the lil chinese boy bc i was so short and little.. but he was cool too..
SO now its been reported that in 09, they are remaking this cult classic... and they have slated Samuel L Jackson to be Sho-nuff.. pretty nice choice.. I wouldda used Busta Rhymes... but Sams cool. They say they are going to stick to the same story but just update it.. To me.. the original, with all the old songs and stuff cant be replaced... weve seen some many movies that have been revamped to be such a dissappointment.. Im just hoping I can tolerate this one..
So with Sam being named..and RZA being named as the producers.. it makes me wonder who else will be in the movie.. heres some of my choices..
Leeroy - Maybe Chris Brown.. or Columbus Short.. someone who looks none threatening..
His younger Brother - Bow Wow or Lil JJ.. Bow wow could get it off as being too cocky, too short for his age and just ebing annoying... Lil JJ bc he just seems like a lil brother..
Laura - Rihanna of course.. I hope they dont sell out and just give it to Beyonce..
Eddie Arkadian - Jason Alexander of course..
The white singing lady - Cameron Diaz or someone silly.. "Dirrrttty Boy.. I found him, I found him.."
Yall know im crazy.. but WHAT U THINK?!?!

I can't buy Sam Jackson as Shonuff...He is not that built and Shonuff was much younger.
Bruce Leroy.....Chris Brown maybe...but he is not that great of an actor. I can buy Columbus Short or maybe even the young cat that played in the wire (and secret life of Bees).
How bout Alicia Keys as the singer (I forget her name)
and Bruce Little brother.....the lil youngn that plays in everybody hates Chris...he could do it.
